PE Expectations and Grading
Class Expectations
1. Respect:
Students must treat everyone in class with kindness and respect. * Keep hands, feet, objects, and inappropriate comments to yourself!
2. Routine:
Students are expected to come in to the gym respectfully and have a seat on their assigned spot.
Once the students have been greeted and attendance has been taken, the class will perform a daily warm up.
After completing the warm up students will return to their spots and listen for further direction.
3. Dress:
The expectation is for all students participating in PE to wear tennis shoes and if skirts are worn shorts must be worn underneath.
4. Daily Warm Up:
Students will be required to participate in the warm up assigned by the teacher for that day to receive full participation points. Class warm up will be student lead by a "PE Leader" that is selected each week.
5. Participation:
Each student is expected to participate to the best of their ability in order to receive a full points each day of class. (Full Participation points are received when the student voluntarily participates in the days lessons and activities at their best ability level)
6. Attitude :
Each student is required to participate in PE with a good attitude :)

PE Grading
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Each student will have the opportunity to earn a total of 4 points a week for the following:
2 point for participating in the daily activity (students must wear tennis-shoes to participate)
2 point for having a good attitude

3rd and 4th Grade
Each student will have the opportunity to earn a total of 4 points per class for the following:
(students must wear tennis-shoes to participate)
Participating in the daily activities while maintaining their target heart rate.
0 - points = Students doesn't participate
1 - point = 1 - 3 minutes of activity in target heart rate zone
1.5 - points = 4 - 6 minutes of activity in target heart rate zone
2 - points = 7 - 10 minutes of activity in their target heart rate zone
2.5 - points = 11 - 13 minutes of activity in target heart rate zone
3 - points = 14 - 16 minutes of activity in their target heart rate zone
3.5 - points = 17 - 19 minutes of activity in target heart rate zone
4 - points = 20 + minutes of activity in their target heart rate zone

(Target heart rate zone =140 beats per minute - 180 beats per minute during exercise)
